Is this "friend" becoming insecure and is it damaging our "friendship"?

Personally, I would drop her if I were you. I understand that she is trying ot help you find a guy, but I think she is taking it a little far, especially when she laughed along with the guys who were laughing at you. If those are the type of people she hangs around with, it should be an indicator as to the type of person she is. I would find better friends who wouldn't pressure you into finding "mr.right" and speed dating.
