Can I give my dog clonazepam?

My dog has severe separation anxiety. Now please understand that I am an extremely responsible pet owner. My mother is also a vet. She has not practiced in some years but is still very knowledgeable. She has told me that when she was practicing, she prescribed dogs Diazepam. In the last couple of months, she has given me a couple of her alprazolam to give to him when he really needed it. Now I have been prescribed clonazepam. My mother is on vacation and I can not reach her. It would make sense that if I can give him these other benzos that I would be able to give him this one too. All I am wondering is if anyone knows about any factual contradictions with this medication. I do not recommend that anyone try this without vet supervision either. And please no lectures about giving my dog human medication. I would never do anything to compromise his health and I never do anything without the consent of a vet. But if anyone knows of any complications with this medication, I would be very grateful. Thank you to everyone.
